The film’s poster, presented at the San Sebastián Film Festival, read: “For the first time a death row prisioner, JOSE LUIS CERVETO, is given the opportunity of speaking before the public opinion”. The approach to Cerveto’s personality and thoughts initiated by Herralde becomes a statement against the law and penitentiary systems in Spain. The film was disclosed in the midst of the intense debate which took place around the lack of assistance and social rehabilitation policies for prisioners from 1977 till 1980, and its main character is both outspoken and clear minded, as he expresses his opinions regarding the situation he is living through.
