Ana and I is the story of a daughter's search for answers. As she confronts the mystery that surrounds the deaths of her sister and father, and the reasons for the sudden adoption of her two sisters, Primavera presents her enigmatic mother, Ana, a single parent who does whatever it takes to provide for her large family; the family that became the first Spanish equestrian champion vaulting team. "I am a machine that does everything for you, other people call this a mother".
Ana and I participated in Pitching Forum de Documentary in Europe 2010, in Pitching Forum from Lisbon Docs 2010 and it was one of the projects developed in EURODOC 2011.
Primavera Ruiz is from Madrid, Spain and has directed five shorts films. Ana and I is her first feature production. Primavera is an active young member of film and television industry in Spain. She mainly works as a line producer/producer manager. She has produced for the award winning director, Esteban Crespo. His last short Aquel No Era Yo (20 mins) won The Goya Awards 2013. Primavera has a degree in Audiovisual Communication from Universidad Camilo Jose Cela (Spain), a Certificate in Filmmaking from Tisch School of the Arts, NYU (USA) and a Masters in Digital Cinematography, from ECAM (Spain). From 1997-2002 she was Captain of the Spanish Vaulting team and attended the world championships in several countries. She is now producing and directing her next documentary titled The White Man, shooting in the Indian Reservation in Arizona, USA.
