The NGO Kultura Communication y Desarrollo KCD uses visual tools because they contribute to overall teaching in different societies, teaching essential to making a better world. A great deal of their work involves creating alternative spaces for the dissemination and promotion of audiovisual material dealing with social issues. It is for this reason that the Third International Festival of Invisible Film “Filme Sozialak” Bilbao 2011 is organized, which this year is to be held from September 27th to October 4th.
The festival will screen feature films and short films from different genres, all tackling social issues and shown in eight theaters in the metropolitan area of Bilbao and towns of Bizkaia. The festival will award seven prizes in the following categories: Human Rights, Gender Equity, Best Work by a Woman, Interculturalism, Sustainable Development and Best Feature and Best Short in Invisible Film.
The presentation will screen the documentaries Living Juárez by Alexandra Halkin and Silvestre Pantaleón by Roberto Olivares Ruiz and Jonathan D. Amith.< (...)
