Alberto Cairo is an Italian physiotherapist who has spent the last 15 years helping mine victims in Afghanistan. He is head of the ICRC orthopaedic center in Kabul, a place where a dozen new patients arrive every week in order to get a new prothesis and to get help in finding a job. On a normal working day Alberto's mood changes various times, from laughing and joking with the patients and employees, to loud shouting and endless arguing with them. All these emotions come from his deep commitment and love for his patients, whom he considers to be family.
