Super 8 nights.
The first step for any filmmaker is to film his or her nearest surroundings. Camera in hand, the family, friends, grandchildren’s parties, all become film material for private, family use.
For the second year in a row, Documenta Madrid is opening a slot in its program schedule to revitalize and share old home movies, thus vindicating at the same time the validity and charm of the format that best represents this amateur, free-and-easy, homemade cinema: Super 8. Two nights at Tempo, where private films get turned into a collective party.
