III Avid-HP Documentary Marathon.

The goal
To shoot a video in Madrid and capture, in short time, the essence of the theme chosen by the Organization. And it must be done in a fresh way, in order to show talent and creativity.

Description
This contest is dedicated to the participants of the Official Section of Documenta Madrid 07.
Eight teams, of one or two members, will have to film and edit within 42 hours a short
documentary which duration must not exceed 5 minutes, on the theme proposed by the
Festival organization.

Beginning of the Marathon:
Friday, May 4th at 10:00 am.
The organization will deliver to each team a tape of 30 minutes duration and two themes to choose one on which to produce the short film. The choise of one of the themes should be done at that moment by the participants and no change will be allowed.

End of the filming:
Sunday, May 6th from 18:00 h. to 19:00 h.
Each team will have to submit the raw material before 19:00 h. to the place chosen by the
organization, which will be made public on the day of the beginning of the Marathon. Theorganization warns that the punctuality will be very important and everyone who does notrespect the times established will be immediately disqualified.

Each participant should bring the camera and connectors needed to make the digitizing ofthe tape (400- 400 firewire). For this, you will have the help and assistance of AVID staff, whowill prepare the material for the editing.

Editing day:
Monday, May 7th from 9:00 h. to 19:00 h.
Editing will take place in a space indicated by the organization, where each team will
be able to use a HP laptop with an Avid Xpress Pro editing system and the support fromAVID staff.

Sound and Final day:
Tuesday, May 8th from 9:00 h, to 12:00 h.
In the same editing room there will be some time for sound editing. All the work should be finished at 12:00 h.
