Parallel Activities
TCANAL + announces Dok Amateur 07/08, a documentary competition in which creativity and imagination are the main weapons.
Dok Amateur is made up of two windows this year: Canal + and Plus.es. For full-length
films is Canal +, and Plus.es for short films. Two concepts for different exhibition and
production for a single genre: the documentary. Two media for a single purpose: the search for new directors.
The call for entries is open for twelve months and the selection of films shall be based on one idea: to boost these young and similar formats.
CANAL + will make the rules and regulations for this competition public on Plus.es, and it will be open from September 2007 through March 2008.
KARDALA

For the old Basque sailors, "Kardala" is the push or impetus that the sea gives to the crest of a wave
when it is just beginning to break. Over the centuries, our sailors and their boats have had to deal and
cope with the beatings of the breaking waves. On a daily basis, the sailors' wives need equal strength
to keep their families going.
